Kyocera Philosophy No. 15 – The Ttrue Essence of Things
Recently, there has been a lot of news and discussion
surrounding the issue of priority seats. One day, while my husband and I were
on the MRT, we noticed a woman who looked quite unwell and had a bandage on her
neck. At that moment, the only available spot was a priority seat. Her friend
urged her to sit down, but she was too afraid to take the seat, fearing she
would be judged or criticized by others.
We should look at the true essence of things. Everything should be viewed through the lens of comparison: in that specific moment, who is the one in most need? We shouldn't stick to rigid, outdated rules that dictate these seats are strictly for the elderly or pregnant women while forbidding everyone else from using them.
